We’ve got our hands on every performance version of the Model S and Model X. From the P100D through to the Plaid, these are the six quickest Teslas money can buy. The question is, just how different is their performance? Let’s start with how they compare on paper. The Model S P100D rolls up with dual motors that combine to produce 671hp and 950Nm of torque. It tips the scales at around 2,100kg. As for the Model X P100D, its two motors combine for 534hp and 755Nm, and it’s a fair bit heavier than the Model S, weighing in at around 2,500kg. Then we have the Ravens. Both come with dual motors, and both the Model S & Model X produce 778hp and 1,140Nm. However, while the Model S weighs 2,255kg, the Model X comes in at 2,552kg. Then finally we have the Plaids. Both cars have ti-motors, and both produce 1,020hp and 1,420Nm. But just like the Raven, while the Model S weighs in at 2,190kg, the Model X is a whole lot heavier, coming in at 2,464kg. This collection of wings and carbonfibre might be the purest expression of a ‘race car for the road’ since the McLaren F1 LM. Why? Because it’s not a road car that does a decent job on a circuit, like an Aston Martin Valkyrie. Nor is it a road car turned track car, a la the Ferrari FXX-K. Instead, this is a proper race car with number plates. And it’s no one-off either, as ABT plan to build 99. At over £600k a pop… It is an ABT too, because the work done to legalise this R8 LMS GT2 is so extensive that it no longer wears an Audi VIN plate – ABT is certified as the manufacturer. Rightly so, because to jump through the strict hoops demanded for German TÜV certification took Abt two years. We’re not just talking indicators and number plates either – they’ve had to crash test one of these. Twice. Is it still a race car? Is it now any good on the road? Nissan R34 v Toyota JZX100: DRAG RACE

We’ve got our hands on a Toyota Chaser & a Nissan R34 Skyline, and they’re both going head-to-head in a drag race! Both these cars have been heavily modified and normally spend most of their time drifting, but Mat and Yianni wanted to see how they compared when they went head-to-head in a straight-line race! First up we’ve got the Toyota Chaser JZX100. Normally its 2.5-litre inline 6 would produce 276hp and 377Nm, but naturally, it’s been increased, and it now produces 500hp and 678Nm! Power is sent to the rear wheels only via a 5-speed manual, and the total cost of the car including the upgrades is £50,000. Next up we have the GT-R R34. Normally it would ‘only’ produce 155hp and 186Nm, but this has been dialled way up to now produce 550hp and 746Nm! Just like the Chaser it’s RWD, and the total cost including all upgrades is around £100,000! The question is, who will handle the manual shifts better - Mat or Yianni?
