2024 Audi S3 FACELIFT | RS3 Torque Splitter Inside (Explained)
The Audi S3 is radically renewed: the restyling of the model, anticipated by the car in camouflage configuration, brings with it multiple technical refinements resulting in sporty behavior like never before. A characteristic which contributes to the sensitive injection of power, the optimized supercharging, the advanced S tronic transmission, the adoption of the torque splitter technology derived from Audi RS 3, the new dynamic plus driving program, the more direct steering and the larger brakes . Torque splitter derived from Audi Sport Similarly to the Audi RS 3, the new Audi S3 adopts torque splitter technology capable of distributing torque between the rear wheels actively and in a completely variable way, to the advantage of dynamism, directional rigor and a tendency towards oversteering. Unlike a classic self-locking rear differential and the integral solution with electro-hydraulic multi-plate clutch at the end of the transmission shaft, the latter being the prerogative of the previous generation of Audi S3, the torque splitter uses two electro-hydraulic multi-plate clutches: one for each rear axle shaft. By adopting a sporty driving style, when cornering the system distributes the torque between the rear wheels, increasing the thrust on the wheel with greater grip, the one outside the trajectory, preventing the onset of understeer and encouraging, as mentioned, oversteer. In a straight line, the joint action of the clutches guarantees the operation of the quattro all-wheel drive: the torque is directed to both rear wheels. Tuned Audi S4 vs Lamborghini: DRAG RACE

We’ve got Mat in an Audi S4, and it’s lining up against a Lamborghini Huracan Evo! Think it’ll be a walkover for the Lambo? Well, all is not as it seems! Let’s take a look at the stats. The Audi rolls up powered by a 3-litre V6 turbo that can normally produce 350hp and 500Nm of torque. However, the team at Awesome GTI have tuned it, and it now produces 560hp and 840Nm of torque! It’s still equipped with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, and it weighs in at around 1,700kg. Then we come to the Lambo. It’s powered by a glorious 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 that can produce 640hp and 600Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and it weighs in at around 1,500kg. There’s one key difference between the two though. While the Lambo costs just below £200,000, the Audi S4 only costs £24,000! But can it take down the Huracan? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!
