2024 PORSCHE CAYENNE GETS NEW LOOKS, NEW V-8 POWER FOR S MODEL

Porsche revealed the 2024 Cayenne on Tuesday, showing off revised styling, a heavily revamped interior, and a selection of updated drivetrains.

Visually, the Cayenne's 2024 refresh is more evolutionary than revolutionary. The basic design concept is largely the same, with lightly resculpted fenders and a new hood. The headlights are also new, shaped to better align with the company's other offerings (i.e. the Taycan).

The interior is where the biggest changes lie. The dashboard and center stack are all new, with a 12.3-inch central infotainment screen as standard. Behind the steering wheel lies a 12.6-inch digital gauge cluster display, and for the first time, buyers can now option a 10.9-inch touchscreen for the passenger side dash.

Also new for 2024 is a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 for the Cayenne S, replacing the outgoing V-6 engine. It makes 468 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque; 37 horses and 37 lb-ft more than the engine before it. The base 2024 Cayenne gets power from a single-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 making 348 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque, 13 hp and 36 lb-ft more than before, respectively. The Cayenne E-Hybrid also uses this engine, pairing to an electric motor that produces a maximum of 174 hp thanks to a 25.9-kWh battery. Combined, the two energy sources can make 463 hp.

The Cayenne Turbo GT returns as the Cayenne's most potent offering, sporting standard carbon-ceramic brakes, air suspension, rear-axle steering, titanium tailpipes, 22-inch wheels, and a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 making 650 hp (19 more hp than before). Offered exclusively in Coupe form, Porsche says the current Nürburgring SUV lap record holder can sprint from zero to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds, onto a top speed of 189 mph.

The base 2024 Porsche Cayenne will start at $80,850, including a $1650 destination charge, when it arrives at dealers this summer. If you prefer the coupe body style, be prepared to pay an extra $5100. The E-Hybrid starts at $93,350 (or $97,350 for the coupe), while the Cayenne S comes in at $97,350, or $103,750 for the coupe. The Turbo GT starts at $197,950.

Porsche hasn't mentioned any details on the standard Cayenne Turbo or GTS trims. It's likely they'll get their own reveals in the near future.
